GABRIEL JACOB, MSPE (Program Director)
Gabriel is a USPTA ELITE-certified teaching professional with over 35 years of experience. He has a BA degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Physical Education. He is the former Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Cypress College and former Head Women’s Tennis Coach at San Bernardino Valley College. He is the former Director/Head Tennis Professional at the Redlands Country Club, Director of Tennis for Match Play Tennis Academy, former Tournament Director of the Redlands Racquet Club, and an independent business owner. He is on the Prince National Advisory Staff and has worked with the USTA Junior Training Center. Specialty areas are mental toughness, serve/volley, strategy/tactics, constructing points and tennis-specific footwork using the Baileys Method and the Non Linear game.
Sam Mason, MSP
Sam has a Masters Degree in Education and was a tennis instructor at San Bernardino Valley College for twenty-eight years. He has played tournament tennis throughout California and the United States. Sam is a positive, motivating instructor who possesses a passion and love for the game of tennis. He truly believes that people of all ages can learn this sport. His belief and goal is that the popularity of tennis today will rival that of the 1970s.
Ronnie, a graduate of Citrus Valley in 2014, set the MVL record going his last 3 consecutive seasons undefeated in high school, with a total high school record of 124-6. During his time playing USTA junior tournaments he saw a career high ranking of #8 in California and #48 nationally. He moved on to play for 4 years collegiately for Monmouth College at the #1 singles and #1 doubles spots. During his time at Monmouth he majored in Exercise Science, with a focus on biomechanics, and a minor in sociology. He is currently completing a 2nd and 3rd bachelors degrees in Sociology and Anthropology. He has studied under Coach Gabriel Jacob since 2008, has been a coach with Redlands Youth Tennis since 2012, and is currently the head coach at Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands. His focuses include game strategy for a full court game, serve and volley, and biomechanically correct strokes to ensure maximal output with minimal injury risk.
Jorge Bigueur, MD
Born in El Salvador, Jorge has assisted the RYT program since 2009. He has won singles and doubles tournaments in Brazil, El Salvador and the United States. Jorge has been USTA section champion, USTA local league champion and winner of Pacific Life Club Championship at Indian Wells. He has attended the USTA Recreational Coach workshop, USTA Official workshop, and the Line Official workshop.
Herve Laurent,Tennis Professional
Herve was a coach for the varsity team of the Jack Barrack Academy in Haverford, PA. He joined the USTA and completed their program for Developmental Coach, giving him access to many resources very useful for customizing classes to cater to the different needs of his students. He also held the position of Faculty Fellows at Hill College House at the University of Pennsylvania campus teaching tennis privately and in small groups and organizing tournaments among residents during the school year.
